Mattia Insolera was born in Bologna in 1977. He has been personal photographer of the famous Italian singer Vasco Rossi. In 2005 he art directed the photographic book Sfrido (pubblished by Damiani Editore), a project of the Municipality of Bologna. From 2005 to 2009 he has been represented by Grazia Neri Agency, pubblishing with important international magazine such as: Esquire, Financial Times, Courrier Intl', Vogue, D la Repubblica delle Donne, Io Donna, Il sole 24 ore, El Periodico, Sportweek, Le Monde. He won the Iceberg prize, promoted by the Municipality of Bologna, the Canon Italia Prize, The Alberobello Portfolio award, the Fnac European "talent latent" award. In Spain he won the professional scholarship of the Albarracin Seminary and the photography award of the Biennal of Girona. In 2009 he won the second prize for single pictures in the daily life category of the World Press Photo Award and the IPA honorable mention. Some of his images are conserved by the Nicephore Niepce Foundation in Chalon sur Saone.
